But it was relatively easy to sign up for and I have already received my February issue as well as the January back issue! Hopefully the link will work for you, but if not, you can access it at www.savingyourcents.blogspot.com posted on 2/24.

Keeping up with the Joneses

Not to be left out, I decided to try my hand at a new blog template... And lemme tell you, I'm not particularly technologically inclined, so it was a bit of a struggle. Unfortunately, I realized a little too late that Kim had the link to the skins on her blog. So, while I was futzing around I managed to lose all my widgets. Now here I am closing in at 12:30am, sitting in front of the computer with the mother of all back aches (ah the joys of being preggers!) trying to put the blog back together again!! But as I always say, everything happens for a reason and I was forced to make some much needed updates in the process. Not much of an post I know, so here's wishing everyone a great weekend!!

Dinner and a Movie

Since Matt had to work Saturday night, we ended up celebrating Valentine's Day tonight with some awesome bargains. We started with dinner at Houlihan's for Mini Mondays. If you sit in the bar for happy hour, you can get mini burgers for $1 each! Check out participating locations and hours here. Plus they also have great drink specials. We were able to enjoy dinner for $13 including tip!! I'm not sure if you can use it with the burger deal, but if you sign up for their e-club you get a coupon for a free appetizer. Then we picked up Wanted on DVD at a Redbox kiosk for free with the special code that is available every Monday. (Check out www.mummydeals.org every Monday for the new code.) Not too shabby for a date on a budget!

Best Deal Yet??

There were a few things at Walgreens this week that caught my eye, so tonight I headed in with coupons in hand. I'm trying to make Kim proud!! My purchases included:

Old Spice Deodorant- 1.99 w/ coupon in ad
-1.00/2 mfg coupon= 2/2.98

Duracell Batteries 4pk AAA- 2.99 w/coupon in ad
-.75/1 coupon= 1/2.24

Energizer Batteries 4pk AA- 2.99 (not advertised in ad)
-1.00/1 coupon= 1/1.99

Walgreens Batteries BOGO 8pk AA and 2pk 9V- 5.49
I also had a 1.00/2 4pk coupon, but the cashier wouldn't let me use it on the 1 8pk- BOO!

Garnier Fructis Wonder Waves Hair Care- 3.99 or 2/7.00
-1.00/1 and Easy Saver Rebate up to 4.29= MONEY MAKER!
**I had 3 coupons, so I bought a shampoo, comditioner, and styling product, so I'm hoping they will give me the rebate of 10.99 = 3.00 profit

Total out of pocket (assuming the rebate): $8.21 (+ tax, of course)

Dollar Deals

There are some awesome deals out there at Schnucks this week with their 10 for $10 ad! Among the best are...

Birds Eye Steamfresh or Freshlike Frozen Veggies- combined with various $.50 off coupons from the paper and online, I got 4 bags for $2.

Progresso Soup is on sale again, but with the online coupon, you can make money on this deal!! Here is your link to print up to 2 coupons.

Medium Eggs are virtually the same as large and can be substituted in most recipes, so a dozen for a $1 is an even better deal than Aldi.

Pillsbury Rolls and Biscuits coupons are always in the paper, but I don't generally use them since they don't go on sale often, but they are part of the dollar deals this week! Keep in mind they are the small packages, but that works out even better for our small family... I bought 4 crescent rolls, 2 biscuits, and 2 cinnamon rolls for $4.30 since Schunucks also doubles coupons up to $.40 in value.

Some other good prices were on...

Pork Chops and Pork Roast were both on sale for $1.99/lb. I bought a 3.60lb roast that I plan on serving for our family dinner tomorrow, but I'm sure there will be leftovers to make at least 1 more meal for the 2 of us... Not bad for $7...

Old Orchard Apple Juice Blends 2/$3 and

Duncan Hines Brownie Mix is also on sale 4/$5 and there was a $.35/1 coupon in this Sunday's paper, so I got each box for $.55 after double coupons.

Shop 'n Save also has a similar ad, but only a couple things jumped out at me... Soft Soap Hand Soap (which also had a coupon in the Sunday paper) and SNS brand cream cheese were both on sale for a $1. I will have to say that I did get pretty excited about Breyers Ice Cream on sale 2/$5... I don't allow myself to splurge often, but that's a pretty darn good price that I couldn't pass up.
